The Seed Fountain

The Seed Fountain materialises as speculative piece of urban architecture, putting forward seeds as impactful agents for biodiversity and healthy soils.

The project envisages an interactive future city that is experienced and shaped through digital platforms. Our ongoing research explores interaction with data to improve biodiversity within the built environment, providing citizens with tools to actively participate in the development and appearance of their surroundings and crowdsourcing urban biodiversity planning.

With the Seed Fountain, we create a physical interface to the incoming virtual data. It manifests as a place where residents can interact, collect real-life seed rewards to their phygital contributions, and thus also promote dispersion of corresponding seeds in their private green spaces.
